ComiCon 2000 full report!
The con is finally over and from what we heard, there were over 48,000+ fans wandering the halls of the San Diego Convention Center! Of course, the hopping Radio Comic Booth (#324) was chock full of fans and creators! At various times we were visited by creators like Adam Warren, Richard Moore, Rod Espinosa, Eddie Perkins, Diana X Sprinkle, MIchael Vega, Fred Perry, Ted Nomura, Rikki Simons, Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons, and too many more to list!
While not attending to the booth, both Elin and Pat negotiated with artists and handled many portfolio reviews. We're cooking up several sure-to-please projects that are going to spin some heads!
We were previewing several new projects at the booth including the highly anticipated Tales of the Fehnnik #2! Richard Moore presented his new book Deja Vu and we showed some sneak peeks of the latest Havoc Inc. by Terrie Smith and Mark Barnard! We also had many of our new manga titles out including Luck of the Draw, Astrider Hugo and Wild Zoo! If you missed the con, stay glued to this site for advanced previews of all these titles! In addition to the exciting previews we also announced several new projects in response to overwhelming retail response. Shipping this December we're proud to announce our first trade paperback: Mechanical Man Blues! We've been sold out of MMB for some months now and fans and retailers alike are still screaming for more! What can we say, we listen!
We also brought along our entire line of comics (130+ titles!) for those who might have missed a few and needed to pick them up. Demand was far greater than we anticipated --and despite shipping even more copies of our books this year, we still ended up selling out! We were literally swamped!
But words alone can't fully describe the con! So, to share the sheer magnitude of show-room floor in San Diego, we strapped a camera to manga artist Will Allison and sent him headlong into the fray! Watch in wonder and amazement as Will wanders the con checking out the sights! To check out our awesome WillCam footage below you'll need Apple's Quicktime 4.
