Just back from Soonercon, headed to Apollocon
by melwhite on June 6, 2011 at 8:36 amI'll miss Project Akon this year because too many things have been happening.
D&M is back on schedule, though, and I'm trying to pre-load pages for this so there won't be any huge gaps. I know my schedule will get wonky later on this summer.
I'm also working on a "Bilgewater and Sadie" short story which will give a bit more of the backstory and add some interesting details about the universe. At least, I think they're interesting. Will be shipping some pages to a new inker later this month -- the story will be a "how Sadie actually ended up in this place and how she and Bilge met."
It's really hard to believe that I've been at this for awhile. Book 2 of our heroes' adventures continues next week (meaning: after I get home from vacation) and will continue as a weekly post.
Coyote will also start back up at the first of June!
Just a quick note from the web-monkey -
Duncan and mallory has moved URLs. the new location is http://www.radiocomix.com/duncan-and-mallory. Please check and update you links if you have them. A redirect is in place at the old URL address just in case.
Thanks! ^.^
Coyote is on hold this week -- he's off frolicking at Further Confusion convention and I'm recovering from seeing a semester's worth of homework from my one remaining class.
EEEE!
Will be back next week. Promise.
Just a heads up, due to Mel's current workload, D&M has gone down to once a week. It'll now post on Tuesdays, with in-jokes as she gets time for them.

There's a LOT of in-jokes in the Duncan and Mallory pages. On the first page, at the top, you can see Anubis waving to Abraham (who's off herding sheep) as Bast stands at a bus stop, waiting to go to work. In the parallel universe, the little girl is reading a guide to mythological animals -- but as you can see in a closeup of the other panel, the unicorn girl is reading "Tales from the Vulgar Human."
This is a direct reference to Bob Asprin and Lynn Abbey's second Thieves' World anthology, "Tales from the Vulgar Unicorn."
Asprin and White’s Duncan & Mallory Coming Soon!
by Smudge on July 9, 2009 at 2:52 pmWe are very excited to announce the addition of a classic fantasy comic to our webcomics lineup! Cartoonist Mel. White and the late author Robert Asprin first collaborated on Duncan & Mallory in the heady days of the 1980's comic boom, leaving fans clamoring for more. Now, White will be creating new strips featuring these beloved characters- Duncan, the hapless adventurer, and Mallory, the small, vegetarian blue dragon.
The strips will debut on the Radio Comix Online site, and have regular, weekly updates. We are extremely proud to be a part of the return of this classic comic strip!
Hello, World! I'm excited to be here, and will be uploading sketches and other goodies for you to preview!
This week features some rough art of the cover. Other items will slowly be added, with the actual series beginning at the first of September. It'll start with "How Sadie and Bilge Met", which introduces some elements of the world we built.
