Okay; I have ALWAYS wondered where the word “rubah” came from. I used to use it frequently as a kid (Yes, this comic had THAT big an impact on me), and didn’t realize until I was probably like… twenty-four… that no evidence of it seems to exist in the world, save for on this particular page.
It’s an abbreviated form of “rhubarb” which was used in crowd scenes (plays, television, movies) where everyone’s supposed to be talking in the background. Blame Bob for the spelling… he was into theater and acting and knew stuff like that. Me, I never got my nose out of books long enough to find out!
