Thank you. This entire backstory has been ready to go for years now, but I’m very happy that I did all of what’s gone before, because that experience means that I can tell this ~better~ now.
I kinda wish I knew what the uncle was saying. Oh well. Either way, he’s gonna get a lot of cuts in his gut soon. I’m still waitng for the elf to show up. I mean, good god, that castle must be sound proof, how the heck has she slept through all of this racket? Between the yelling of the crowd and the smoke and smell of burning flesh, I woulda thought she’d be out there by now.
Yeah, Garreth really isn’t processing on a verbal level at that moment. And as for the elf, well, stone walls make excellent soundproofing. *shrug* You’d be amazed what you can sleep through with several feet of stone between you and the commotion.
Aaaand then I also realised that when Beast had his flashback, he and Sebastian were in front of a bonfire. Of a corpse. laskdjflsdfk Aaaaah, no wonder he got tripped by Sebastian calling him ‘His Majesty’ – he was already primed for it! laksjflsdkfja;sd D:
I am so behind, oh my god. And this is a super depressing place to come back in, but that’s what this whole chapter is about, so yeah.
POOR GARRETH! His expression in the last panel is breaking my heart. 🙁 I love the lack of dialogue here, especially when that horrible excuse for a human being is talking and it’s all just white noise to Garreth, because that’s exactly how it works. The progression of this page is perfect.
you just know that in those few panels the crowd went from frenzied yells wanting her death to total silence when Garreth presence became known.
whatever reasons that led them to believe this was the right thing to do escapes them, now that the see the devastated look on their King.
Pray to whatever god they believe in because I am thinking this the last night of many of their lives as well.
