Wait… If elf lady was asleep for most of this, and this is the first time beast has spoken of it, is it also the first time she has heard/understood what happened in its entirety and the reasons behind it? I saw kitty wincing a couple of pages ago…

Yyyyyyyup. Elf Lady ~finally knows~ what the heck went on back then. It’s not exactly happy news, but at least she has a clearer picture of why everything went belly-up.
This entire chapter, but especially this bit, is just like, feels ~all over~ the place.
I can’t even begin to imagine what Beast has been going through all these years. He’s in SO much pain. That first panel, my instinctive reaction was to want to hug him. Of course I’d likely get clawed for my troubles, but that’s what I felt.
Beast definitely needs some hugs, but man he’s a prickly thing right now.
Sebastian, right now the best thing you can do for Beast is wrap him up In a large hug and let him finally grieve for his sister/lover.

*wibbles* Poor Beast! You can really see how these emotions have been allowed to fester since he’s had no one to confide in. The combination of anger and tears does an amazing job at showing how conflicted he himself is. Him trembling with anger and grief is a fantastically evocative image.
Please proceed carefully, Sebastian!
Okay, now I just want to hug him T_T I thought it might be a story like that, but the whole retelling was brilliantly done. Also, the cat! Knew there was something fishy there
