Aaaaaaaah, you can just see how far and hard the group is trying to run away from Beast in that first panel and alsjfsl;dah

And yes, that does explain how he got there. …Though, haha, that means Sebastian was wrong about how it wasn’t Beast who killed him. XDD

      Yyyep.

XD Haha, yup. Beast didn’t kill him with his claws because he didn’t ~have~ claws at that stage. But it was definitely Beast.

At first I thought those were bodies in that first panel, but looking again it seems more like they’re running away. It has to be so much more terrifying for them because they know Garreth’s a nice person and this came totally out of nowhere for them. The despair in that middle guy’s face, like he just can’t understand at all because Garreth wasn’t a tyrant or a despot.

Also very glad this is in visual format not audio format as those voices begging for mercy in the last panel sound gut-wrenching enough in my head.

Yeah, they’re running, or trying to. It’s definitely worse because of the sheer unexpectedness, too.

That last panel is definitely the ‘and then everything went horribly wrong’ culmination of Garreth’s mental shift into Beast.

off subject here: but that first frame, I could see being a poster for some horror film.

    movie man voice:
“they can run, but they can not hide from a monster created from their own hatred and betrayal, it will devour you from the inside.

beg for your life, but you will find no mercy here.”

Thanks. 🙂 Yeah, I’m definitely angling for a horror-type feel here, which I finds feeds into how I structure the panels. The top one especially – Garreth is completely dark/in shadow; the angle is tilted, Garreth’s shadow is cast out large in front of him, and the people are all clumped together in terror.

Basically, the Point of View is given from the prey’s point of view. If I’d framed the shot, say, from behind Beast as he stalked towards the peasants, it would have been more about his rage than their terror.

..I love that I’m getting good enough that I can elucidate why I picked the shot I did. XD

Yikes yikes. And yet still I can only feel so sorry for them. Bet none of you bastards were expecting this! His uncle especially deserves everything he gets and then some.

Love the lighting in the first panel.
