XD Thanks! Aha, her dress was the hardest part. I didn’t want to dress her in something too outrageous, and it was only after I’d gone through a ‘clothing through the ages’ book and already drawn her clothes that I realized what I was missing. Disney, and in fact most movies, like LOTR, takes the stance that elves and fairies dress, for the most part, in simple, graceful, flowing, and did I mention simple, clothes. Which generally equates to ‘ageless’. So there’s a lot of light colours and not a lot of obvious decoration or things that ‘date’ clothes, like bellbottom pants or bustles on dresses or the like. So I could really have just given her a white flowing dress and been done with it. But now that I can ~see~ the trope, I kind of enjoy bucking it. Who says the elves don’t have fashion? :3
she really wants to find fault in humans, have a feeling she will not have to search for to long,
not positive that it may have been your intent but she has features that are akin to the present day look of the Beast, the ears, hair, even the petals of the dress having the similarities to the beast tentacles. the ombre of either feathers or scales in the top of the gown to the colouring of the beast, even their attitude over finding an honorable human….as if it is not possible.
This story seems to be heading towards a perfect storm with a all the lies from the past, a magical elf, crazy priest, possible incest, all surrounding this poor young prince who just sees a happy future with someone he loves.
Hmmm….. Miz Elfwoman here makes me think of several possibilities:
1. She was the one who sent the prophecy to Beast’s parents and has come to see how things are working out.
2. We have the traditional ‘You didn’t invite me to the wedding, so now I’m gonna go all Evil all over your ass!’
3. She’s an honestly curious elf, just passing by, nothing to see here, thought I’d stop in for some wedding-cake.
4. She’s looking for a mate/lay/temporary husband and hunting in the favorite game-preserve of all ballad-worthy elves, that of the indigenous human population. Tam Lin, anyone?
5. She spotted Beast galloping through the woods and is here to seduce him, therefore making his bride spurn him in revulsion so Miz Elfwoman can bed him at her leisure.
The sad thing here is that, no matter how this falls out, poor Beatrice is going to be the innocent who suffers. Whether Beast is innocent of a crime or not, she’ll be the sacrifice… and that’s just sad. ;__:
Yeah. She won’t be the only one, but… yeah. Allie and I started this years ago, and looking at it again now with more feminist-aware glasses, I don’t know if I’d repeat this setup. I do at least think(hope) it avoids fridge-ing Beatrice, because what’s coming certainly won’t qualify as ‘character development’ for Beast in any positive or healthy light.
WoW!! 200 pages! Congratulations!!
*snickers* And it can’t be easy to maintain that glamor for that amount of time.
Thanks! ^_^
Yeah, and when you’re travelling out on the roads or staying at inns, the glamour pretty much has to be up 24/7
Woo! Congrats on the 200th page! 8D
And oooohohoho, NICE detail on everything about her! 8D
And they didn’t deny her! 8D …So what’s going to happen next? D:
Thank you! 😀

Well hey there pretty lady plotting bad stuff. How you doing?
The sense of motion in that final panel’s awesome; I can really see the cloak falling to pool around her feet. Love all the textures in her dress.
200 pages, wow! We are so spoiled by you!
*sits on spoilers* She is doing well. Right now. XD
Thank you ^__^
I can’t believe it’s been four years! XD The comments and feedback from everyone is definitely part of the awesome that drives this. 😀
congrats on 200 pages!

It’s that whole ‘unwashed humans’ stereotype. XD Even elves have preconceived notions.
I noticed the similarity with the dress, but no, that is coincidental.
Yeah, the two most innocent people in this situation (Garreth and Beatrice) have so much stuff coming that they have no idea about. =/
200 strips, whooo! Congrats!

Very interesting theories, all.
