Yeah, I can sympathise with Beast there. I can certainly understand the impulse to drive someone away sooner rather than later, before you come to depend on them, and before their leaving can really hurt. Sucks when it doesn’t work, yeah.
I like how in the last panel we can just barely see that Beast’s put his hand back on Sebastian’s knee. I guess he’s reaching out, just a little. Must be hard after so many years of locking himself away to actually reach out for someone, to open up even a tiny bit.
And once again Beast has underestimated Sebastian. Maybe eventually he’ll learn to stop doing that. Maybe.
I should probably not find this adorable. It’s so very both of them, though, and it really illustrates why they work together even when it doesn’t seem like they should. I absolutely adore how you (and Sebastian) are using silence here; it says so much more than any number of words could and it really builds a sense of connection between the two of them.
Yessssss, I’m glad Beast told as well! 😀
And aaaaah, that little glance in the third panel. <3
Hnggg, and Sebastian knows and he still stays and proving Beast wrong. <33
Beast doesn’t know what to make of this person who refuses to run away from him. XD
Ehee, I’m glad that came through!
Yess. Sebastian would stay anyway because oath, but it’s much more than just putting up with a bad situation by now. <3
